Bubba, Mumma Needs Sleep is the latest release from multi-award winning children’s songwriter, and father of four, John Field.
Unlike a typical children’s album, this CD is a collection of 22 beautifully crafted, easy-listening songs for parents and children alike, perfect for singing or humming along to as you settle down from a busy day and gently rock your little one to sleep.
John Field is one of the most successful writers of children’s music in the world today. He has penned more than 400 songs for The Wiggles, including massive hits like ‘Dorothy the Dinosaur’ and ‘Hot Potato’. His music has also featured in televisions series, movies and advertising campaigns around the globe
A true creative spirit with an entertainer’s soul, John relishes the special connection that exists between music and his audience, and as a father of four, this album is very close to John’s heart.
“The early baby years were very busy with three of our children under five years old,” John explains.
“This album is very much a memory of that challenging but unbelievably rewarding time. This is music for the late night feed, the early morning change, music to have a soft dance to, music to clean to, dream to, hum along to and yes, music to fall asleep to. There's soft songs to sing, orchestral pieces to carry you away to the fairies, and very quiet piano pieces for that longed for moment when your little one falls asleep.”
As a writer for The Wiggles, John’s songs have featured on all 30 albums, The Wiggles Movie and in every one of the internationally successful Wiggles TV series. John has also written three musicals and 10 Top 40 hits for the 1980s pop rock band, The Cockroaches.
John’s work had been recognised with awards for Gold and Platinum album and DVD sales, and a number of APRA awards including the International Achievement Award, the Award for the Most Performed Children’s Work, and the Award for the Most performed Screen Composer Overseas.
