The New Christmas Album
‘Driving Home For Christmas’ is the new album from Australian country legend Lee Kernaghan. Released on October 31, the thirteen-tracker features six brand new Christmas tunes along with a collection of festive season favourites including ‘Jingle Bell Rock’, ‘I’ll Be Home For Christmas’ and ‘Mary’s Boy Child’.
Lee released his first Christmas album back in 1998. With a slew of #1 albums and 33 Golden Guitar Awards under his belt, Lee returns with ‘Driving Home For Christmas’; an album that features some of his past favourites plus 6 brand new recordings.
Lee said “Christmastime at our place is always filled with Christmas music and I was thinking about the kind of music we like to play at home when I was recording the songs for “Driving Home For Christmas". I wanted to put together a collection of songs that would provide a fitting soundtrack for family get-togethers, backyard BBQ's and all kinds of celebrations we often experience across the festive season."
Songs like, 'It Still Feels Like Christmastime To Me', 'Three Drovers' and 'O’ Christmas Bush' have a uniquely Australian flavour and it meant a lot to be able to include many songs on the album that capture that special spirit of Christmas in Australia.
