Jasmine Rae Soars With Hit New Album

#1 on iTunes, 3-week #1 on CMC and highest ARIA Chart debut to date…

Two-time ARIA nominated singer-songwriter Jasmine Rae is setting the charts on fire with the release of her third studio album ‘If I Want To’. Within an hour of release, the album shot directly to number one on the iTunes Country Albums Chart, over Taylor Swift’s ‘Red’ and Lady Antebellum’s ‘Golden’.

‘If I Want To’ marks Jasmine’s highest ever debut on the ARIA Charts, claiming No.2 on the ARIA Country Albums Chart and an impressive No.21 on the ARIA Physical Albums Chart and No.23 on the ARIA Album Chart, ahead of new entries for the week from The Civil Wars and Pond.

The album’s lead single and title track is also topping the charts; The music video currently sits at #1 on the Country Music Channel Top 30, where it has held for the past three weeks, making this Jasmine’s fastest rising chart-topper to date. Jasmine is the first Australian artist to maintain the CMC No.1 position for three consecutive weeks since 2008.

The impressive opening week response to ‘If I Want To’ reflects the huge pre-release buzz from fans eager to get their hands on Jasmine’s first album of new material since 2011. The album has also received universal praise from critics around the country. The Music called it “compelling listening…” and News Corp’s Cameron Adams wrote, “… clearly pressure makes diamonds”.

‘If I Want To’ has been drawing national media attention, with Jasmine performing the single on Channel 7’s The Morning Show and the Channel 10 Late News. During a recent appearance on 2GB’s The Alan Jones Breakfast Show, the veteran broadcaster called Jasmine “A great talent” and said “This girl’s going to be heard of for a long time”.

Following her sold-out album launch last weekend in Sydney (described as “Dynamic, exuberant, rock-solid, smoking hot” by reviewer Matt Lawrence), Jasmine is hitting the road with her five-piece band for a series of festival appearances around Australia.
