On the 8th November 1974 a journey began that would last 13 years, influence a generation of Australians and kick-start the careers of some of the world’s great musical artists. Countdown, the most successful music show in Australian television history, this year celebrates its 40th Anniversary. In honour of this milestone, ABC Music will release a very special 2CD Anthology on 7th November.

Featuring a mix of local and international artists, covering pop, rock and everything in between, the Countdown 40th Anniversary 2CD will trace the history of this iconic program. All of your favourite tracks from the TV series are showcased, including Cold Chisel, Fleetwood Mac, Blondie, Elton John, Split Enz and lots more!
