Catherine Britt's tribute to Emmylou Harris was one of her most talked about songs even before it became her latest single.
'Sweet Emmylou', originally a "hidden track" on the original release of Little WildFlower (2008), was recorded in the studio with producers Bill Chambers and Shane Nicholson for Britt's latest self-titled album.
“Sweet Emmylou was written in with my good friend Rory-Lee Feek.
At the time I was heartbroken and when we sat down to write I told him I how I was feeling quite low and listening to old records like Emmylou’s to make me feel better because through her sad songs I felt like misery had company. In many respects the song wrote itself. It's a very special song to me and one of my favourite songs that I have ever written,” says Britt.
