Wayfaring brings together Italian-Australian cellist Umberto Clerici with German-Australian guitarist Karin Schaupp, for a musical journey through a rich tapestry of cultures, ages and emotions.Clerici and Schaupp discovered an immediate musical connection when they first played together at Musica Viva’s annual festival several years ago. ‘It was a magical connection, as if we just knew each other musically, even though we hadn’t met before,’ says Schaupp. ‘It’s something very rare. We played a few pieces and decided we simply had to do this again. Last year we gave some recitals and built a program. Then we decided to make this album, and built a whole new program.’They settled on the linking idea of ‘songs that trace a path from birth to death, with everything in between’: a ‘wayfaring’ through life. Spending long hours in libraries combing through repertoire, they gradually whittled down their options: the final list expresses joy, grief and every emotion between. The repertoire stretches from the early baroque (Monteverdi and Caccini) to the present day, with contemporary works by two Australian composers: Elena Kats-Chernin’s Eliza Aria and A Flower’s Purpose by Katie Noonan, the singer-songwriter with whom Schaupp has toured and recorded. They also cover music by Dvořák, Rodrigo (a stunning song adapted by the composer himself from his beloved Concierto de Aranjuez), Rachmaninoff, Schubert and more. Track Listing:1. One of Australia’s finest country bands, Lachlan Bryan and the Wildes have been bridging the gap between country and alt-country/Americana music for the past eight years. Built around the storytelling songs of front-man Lachlan Bryan, the sensitive playing of members Shaun Ryan and Damian Cafarella and an assortment of regular ‘special guests’, the band has developed a sound that is at once accomplished and rough around the edges.
Combining their collective talents into a joyous sound of brooding guitars, primal drums and howling harmonies.  Mama Kin Spender is a new sonic force to be reckoned with.  New Album ‘Golden Magnetic’ Out February 23rd 2018.
Teeny Tiny Stevies have unveiled their new single, ‘Boss of My Own Body’, lifted from the forthcoming album ‘Helpful Songs For Little People’ - available February 16 through ABC KIDS. The band’s beautifully arranged songs explore the everyday challenges that children experience, with the aim of educating in an entertaining, understandable, and practical manner. When writing Helpful Songs For Little People sisters, Byll and Beth Stephen, wanted to keep to a theme of writing songs that helped parents as much as kids. After reaching out to their social platforms regarding everyday challenges that parents face, they were overwhelmed with the response from parents requesting songs covering important themes that were more difficult to discuss with children. As a result, Byll and Beth got stuck into writing songs that could be used as a conversation starter between parents and children, that would reinforce a useful message or skill while being enjoyable to listen to for the whole family.
