Sydney, Tuesday November 18: At an industry event held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney yesterday, Universal Music Group Australia received 21 Golden Guitar Nominations and 1 Golden Guitar win. Put on by the Country Music Association of Australia and Tamworth Regional Council, the Golden Guitars pay tribute to the best in Australian country music for the year.

Collectively across labels and label partners the 21 nominations covered country superstar acts such as Keith Urban, The McClymonts, McAlister Kemp, and Sara Storer.

Picking up a Golden Guitar win on the day was The McClymonts for Sanity Top Selling Australian Album of the Year with their current release Here’s To You & I. Sharing their appreciation for the win, the girls took to Facebook thanking their fans “We just won a Golden Guitar for Highest Selling Album of the Year!!!! Thanks to you for buying the album and supporting our music!!”

Michael Taylor, Managing Director of Universal Music Australia, who attended the nominations event says: “Our artists work hard every day of every year; writing songs, recording, doing promo, playing shows, and touring. They do it for the love of music and to share with fans. To receive these nominations is a testament to the outstanding commitment they have and remarkable talent and passion they bring to their music. We are very proud of all our artists across the group and congratulate those who have received nominations."
