Hunter Valley country-rock wunderkind Travis Collins gears up to release his new album ‘WIRED’ on February 13, 2015. Collins’ most assured release yet, ‘WIRED’ couples classic country sounds with the artist’s unique ear for a captivating rock tune.

“What I was aiming for with Wired was to plug back into the sounds I was hearing on the radio when I was 16 and 17”, Travis explains. “From the country artists coming out of Nashville, to homegrown acts like Troy Cassar-Daley and Lee Kernaghan. I always knew I loved music, and as a kid looking for someone to be, those artists made a huge impression on me with their rocking guitars, honky tonk pianos, big, melodic lines, and huge harmonies. It’s the stuff that got me into music!”

The rubber really bites the blacktop with lead single ‘Curves’, a gnarly slab of guitar-heavy, dobro-fuelled blues-rock. Penned by Nashville’s David Lee Murphy, responsible for #1 hits from Kenny Chesney and Jason Aldean among others, ‘Curves’ is a catchy upbeat cut that showcases Travis’ smooth vocals.

In 2004, at 19 years of age, Travis Collins was crowned Toyota Star Maker winner, following in the imposing bootprints of stars such as Keith Urban, Gina Jeffreys, and Lee Kernaghan. By the age of 20, Travis had inked a record deal, with a debut album Start the Car to follow in 2005. A breakout success, the album showcased Travis’ musical versatility, engaging vocals, and gift for lyrical invention, with two singles hitting No.1 on the CMC Chart in 2006.

The following year, the rising star picked up 2 x Golden Guitar nominations, for Male Artist of the Year and Instrumental of the Year. In all, Travis has seven Golden Guitar nominations to his credit, including two for Male Artist of the Year.

In 2007, Travis teamed up with Keith Urban to co-write hit single ‘Yeah She Does’. Across his career, Travis has shared both stage and studio with Australia’s best and brightest, working with the likes of Adam Brand, Lee Kernaghan, Melinda Schneider, James Blundell, Kevin Bennett, and The McClymonts.

WIRED undeniably underscores the rock’n’roll heart Travis Collins fans have come to love, while paying heed to the timeless sounds of classic country: slide guitars, banjo, Hammond organ, dobro, and fiddle.

True to form, Travis is gearing up to take his battered old boots on the road once again – along with his dependably electric live show. Fans won’t have to wait too long to enjoy much of what Wired has to offer, with a preview show slated for Tamworth in January. A sweeping tour in support of Wired won’t be far behind!
