That long list includes fourteen Golden Guitars, an ARIA award, two APRA songwriting awards, two PPCA Awards, two MO Awards, twelve Tamworth Songwriters Association Awards, and a prestigious Songmaker accolade (for contributions to Australian songwriting).
Most recently Graeme was announced as the 2016 inductee into the Roll of Renown (Australia’s Country Music Hall of Fame) seeing his name alongside the likes of Slim Dusty and Jimmy Little.
To celebrate his forthcoming 60th birthday, Graeme will release ’60 Summers: The Ultimate Collection’ a mixture of 37 songs from the very beginning of his career through such landmark albums as ‘The Return’, ‘The Road Less Travelled’, ‘This Is Life’, ‘The Moment’ and ‘Still Walking’. There are also re-mixed and re-mastered selections from ‘North’ and ‘South Of These Days’ along with four new songs including the title track which is released as the lead single today.
Graeme will unroll the ’60 Summers’ tour over the next months and is today announcing the first leg of the tour, taking in Toowoomba, Brisbane, Bundaberg, Rockhampton, Cairns, Townsville and his hometown, Mackay.
“This is a very exciting time for me bringing together such a large group of my songs with longtime friends at ABC Music to celebrate not only my 60th birth year but also 40 years in the industry”.
Also announced today is a free community drought relief concert to be held in Barcaldine , Central Western QLD on his 60th birthday and release date of the album (Friday 29th April) underscoring his great love for regional Australian community.
