ABC MUSIC takes out 3 more ARIA Awards
At a ceremony in Sydney last night, ABC Music won three more coveted trophies in the 2012 ARIA Awards, taking the total number of awards won by the label this year to an amazing seven out of a possible eight genre categories.
The Wiggles were awarded the 2012 ARIA Award for Best Children’s Album for their CD Surfer Jeff. This is The Wiggles 11th ARIA Award having won their first back in 1995 for Big Red Car. They are the most awarded artist in a single category.
Jeff Lang was on a flight back from France whilst the 2012 ARIA Award for Best Blues and Roots Album was being announced for his release Carried in Mind. Lang said this morning "It was a wonderful surprise to find out I'd won the award for Blues & Roots album. There were some brilliant albums in contention so to get the nod is a great honour".
The politically incorrect Buddy Goode won his first ARIA Award for Best Comedy Album for his release Unappropriate. It was the second time Goode had been nominated for the award, having been nominated for The One and Only Buddy Goode in the same category last year.
