ABC MUSIC takes out 2 more ARIA Awards

At the gala ceremony in Sydney last night, celebrating the best of the Australian Music Industry, ABC Music won two more coveted trophies in the 2013 ARIA Awards, taking the total number of awards won by the label this year to an impressive seven out of a possible ten genre categories.

Justine Clarke is one of Australia’s most respected actors and foremost female children’s entertainer, and she can now add ARIA Award winner to her long list of accolades. It was announced last night that Justine’s fourth children’s album A Little Day Out With Justine Clarke was awarded the 2013 ARIA Award for Best Children’s Album. Recorded ‘Live in Studio’ A Little Day Out with Justine Clarke was inspired by her enormously successful Australian tours and features Justine’s most popular songs. Justine attended the gala event in Sydney and was thrilled to win this prestigious award. ABC Music would like to congratulate

Justine Clarke on this outstanding achievement.

triple j’s breakfast duo Tom and Alex took out the ARIA Award for Best Comedy Release. They collected their award wearing a giant novelty costume of the winning CD Tom & Alex: The Bits We’re Least Ashamed Of.

The CD encapsulates Tom & Alex’s mischief making and the hilarity that ensues every day at triple j breakfast – from Gwen, the grandmother who stitched up Kanye West’s pants at Splendour in the Grass, to Richard Kingsmill singing in an Italian accent, from the triple j team teaching Alex Dyson how to drive, to talking to Dylan, the only male stripper in Launceston. This ARIA caps off a huge year for the duo, as triple j get ready to say goodbye to beloved breakfast presenter, Tom Ballard.

Last night’s awards have taken ABC Music’s 2013 ARIA Awards tally to seven, having won four Fine Arts and one Artisan ARIA Award at a ceremony in October.
