ABC Classic FM’s annual Classic 100 survey is always a highlight of the classical music year, and this year’s edition, Music in the Movies, is the most popular yet. In just the first five days of voting, the number of votes had exceeded the final tally in any of the previous countdowns.

This outstanding film, directed and choreographed by the legendary Rudolf Nureyev, premiered in Sydney in 1973, had a Royal Gala Performance in London in 1974, went briefly to New York, and despite receiving rave reviews, promptly disappeared.
