The Wannabes Starring Savvy

Currently broadcasting on ABC3 TV, The Wannabes is a situation comedy starring real life teen recording group Savvy.

The Wannabes follows six high school students Sarah Moody (playedby Gabrielle ‘Gigi’ LeMaire), Andrew Stark (played byAndrew Bowen Stern), Drew Robinson (played by Drew Reinartz), Mariah Pettigrew (played by Mariah Parks), Alan Taskin (played by Alan Shaw) and Shaylen Carson (played by Shaylen Carroll) attending an arts academy boarding school in the hope they will become pop stars, until they realise the stuffy academy only teaches classical music and dance.

After a singing battle breaks out between the two sexes in the student lounge, the principle hands out one week of detention – working free at the local café! Fortunately for them, the daughter of the café owner, played by Gabrielle ‘Gigi’ LeMaire, shares the same hopes of becoming a pop star and talks her dad into letting her and the academy student’s rock out at the café and the band is formed as ‘The Wannabes.
