Deepface

Deepface create music that is organic, collaborative, contemporary and electronic.

“I Want To Live” is the first track to be lifted from their forthcoming debut album “Feel The Love” due for release in October 2006. It’s a big piano driven house track featuring the sultry vocals of Shirley Davis in combination with fat studio beats, lush sonic landscapes and sweet melodic strings.

The Deepface story began when Chris Corby and Fran Power formed a writing/production partnership while studying music technology at Latrobe University. They went on to set up and share a small studio space in Melbourne’s Fitzroy and began writing and experimenting with electronic music, incorporating real instrumentation and inviting other artists to collaborate.

They knew they had hit on something when emerging talent Shirley Davis lent her vocals to the track “Been Good”.

Released on their debut self-titled EP, the track made an immediate impact in the clubs with a remix from the production team of Ivan Gough and Grant Smiley (who went on to produce under the moniker TV Rock).

“Been Good” hung around the top 10 in the ARIA club charts for months and became a sought after favourite on dance floors all over Australia. Such was the demand that Shirley Davis performed the track live in many clubs to full houses screaming for more. Eventually “Been Good” was nominated for Best Dance Release in the 2005 ARIA awards.
